At Cottage Farm, the color of a sheep’s wool seems to determine his worth. Cloud, with his bright, beautiful fleece, is praised and celebrated. Shadow, born with dark wool, is often passed by and made to feel as though he doesn’t belong.
But Cloud doesn’t see his brother’s color. He sees his brother.
When Shadow disappears into the night, everyone at Cottage Farm begins to realize just how much they took him for granted. When Shadow finally returns, the farm sees him differently, and begins to understand that the very things that make us different can also be the things that make us shine.
